Hot Tub Size Guide: Choosing The Perfect Fit For Your Family
The first challenge to finding the perfect hot tub for your family is often picking the right size. Garden space in England is precious, so striking the right balance to accommodate the amount of users of your family hot tub while also leaving room in the garden is key! Follow our useful hot tub size guide to help make your choice.
Hot Tub Size Basics
Whether you are searching for a party hot tub to fit 6+ people or a hot tub sized for a couple, Hydropool has options to fit the bill. Hot tubs come in a variety of sizes and use different terminology to explain seating features. Hot tubs with more open seating may be called barrier free or mention open style seating. For relaxation, hot tubs often have loungers. If unwinding is not a priority, and instead the tub will be used by kids or lots of people at once, you may want to consider a hot tub without any loungers. We think a lounger is a great addition for parents who need some kid-free tranquility. Couples may opt for a double-lounger hot tub option, no need to fight over who gets to use it first!
In terms of size, when additional seats are added the hot tub footprint and amount of water inside will increase. These increases are reflected in the base cost of the hot tub. Hot tubs are most often square but can be rectangular (4300, 379) to save some space. Round hot tubs are often seen as inflatables, but they lack ergonomic seating, and won’t be comfortable to stay in for long periods of time.
Hydropool Hot Tub Sizes
Small sized hot tubs are suitable for two to three people. These are suitable for tight fits and people who know they will be the only ones using the spa. Hydropool models that fit into the small category are the Signature Self-Cleaning 379, Signature Self-Cleaning 455, and the Serenity 4300.
Medium hot tubs can fit four to six adults. Even small families often go for these sized hot tubs just to have some extra space to stretch out. Plus, having a bigger space to accommodate any friends or family is a plus. Hydropool’s mid-size hot tubs are the Signature Self-Cleaning 579, Signature Self-Cleaning 655, Signature Self-Cleaning 679, Serenity 4500, Serenity 5900, Serenity 6600, Serenity 6800, and the Serenity 5900 LE. That list may seem long, but the differences are the types of seating (loungers vs all-seaters) and how many jets are in each!
The largest models can sit from 6-8 people, but our largest hot tub for families is actually also a swim spa that seats 9! These large hot tubs are great for entertaining or multigenerational families. Besides the 13FFP Swim Spa, the largest hot tubs Hydropool offers are the Signature Self-Cleaning 728, Signature Self-Cleaning 779, Signature Self-Cleaning 799, and the Serenity 6900.
Our Most Popular UK Hot Tub Size
Regardless of the size of the family using it, our most popular hot tubs are the Self Cleaning 579 and the Serenity 5900.
The Self-Cleaning 579 hot tub has 5 form fitting seats with massage jets that will offer the utmost relaxation. One of the seats is a no-float lounger, which provides a full body massage. This option is great for families with older children that may benefit from sports recovery or families with live-in grandparents that may benefit from hydrotherapy for pain relief or rehab.
Our Most Popular Family Hot Tub Size
The Serenity 5900 also seats 5, but is more open, geared towards families with younger children. This hot tub still has a lounger, but the seats have a bit more room within them creating an open space, easy to move about in. Compared to the Self-Cleaning model, this hot tub is available at a lower price point, potentially making it a more accessible option for families.
Our Biggest Family Size Hot Tub (Is Really A Swim Spa)
In the USA, when you get a family-size bucket of chicken at KFC, you get an absurd amount. Think of this “hot tub” as our family-size upgrade. The 13FFP Swim Spa has four jetted seats, but also has constant current jets that provide a swim current. It really is the perfect family sized hot tub, or even garden pool. Everyone that sees this model is impressed by the size. This magnificent beast of a spa can fit up to 9 adults. If your family is constantly hosting events and you want an upgrade to the garden, this is the spa for you. It’s also a great option if your family is smaller, but you just want more room to spread out. We won’t force you to share with extended family or friends!
How To Choose The Right Hot Tub Size
Picking the perfect hot tub size is key to getting one you'll actually love! The big things to think about are: how many folks will be hopping in at the same time, and where exactly you're planning to put it.
If you're picturing lots of hot tub hang outs, going for a larger size is likely the move. Regardless of bather load (actual hot tub technical term) keep an eye out for models with extra seats or more foot well space if you want more room to groove.
If space is limited, know that with a Hydropool hot tub, you won’t be sacrificing any quality if you go down in size. The internals of our Self-Cleaning models and our Serenity models are the same across the board. The only thing that changes is the seating arrangement.
