Why Honesty Matters During Your Spa Site Assessment

With every purchase of a Hydropool we carry out what we call a site visit. A quick visit to the end location of your swim spa or hot tub- prior to delivery, to determine the best method of transporting, moving, and positioning your spa to it's new home. Often, this is a straightforward, 10 minute visit.

The visit usually follows this metric, “The spa is going here, it can be taken through this part of the garden, and electrics are being wired in here.”

Sometimes, they require a bit more thought, access via a neighbours garden, a crane, or perhaps a base needs to be built or a space in the garden cleared.

Either way, when any and all obstacles, challenges, and information has been communicated to us about the plans, you can guarantee that your delivery date will go without a hitch.

However, issues can arise when not all the information is laid out on the site visit, or changes made post visit, prior to the spa being delivered and installed.

Ideally, you want most of your groundwork and electrics complete prior to your site visit. This way we can tell you if anything needs adjusting and check that access is suitable.

99% of any garden project around the hot tub should be complete (unless it would impede access), with finishing touches such as decking or surrounds to the spa being completed after install.

If the hot tub or swim spa is going under a gazebo or in a garden building, we recommend installing the spa first, and having the structure built around the spa.

There have been occasions when we have completed a site visit with a concrete pad, where maneuvering the spa into place should be easy; but on the day of delivery arrived to find a brand new wooden gazebo installed that made installation very difficult, risking damage to the hot tub and gazebo.

Once your site visit has been completed, we ask that the access, and area around the spa remain unchanged until installation has been completed, as this allows us to know what equipment and the team required to make installation quick and easy.

As you can guess, any new buildings, walls, or landscaping changes can affect how easy it is to install your new hot tub or swim spa. This is why updates and honesty are crucial during a site visit.
